Causes of Snoring

Men and women sometimes snore due to sleeplessness or various reasons. However, the amount and frequency of snoring can negatively affect individuals. Some people may not even be aware they are snoring and may even strongly deny it. Snoring can lead to poor sleep quality. Poor sleep quality can result in fatigue, sleeplessness, irritability, and health problems. If left untreated, it can even become a major problem in your relationships, and sleeping in separate bedrooms may not be a solution. Not everyone's reasons for snoring are the same. Some of these reasons can vary depending on age, nasal polyp problems, sinuses, weight problems, alcohol and smoking, and sleeping position.

Snoring Treatment

If you have a snoring problem or if your existing problem has worsened, it would be appropriate to see a specialist. You might be confusing snoring with sleep apnea. If left untreated, sleep apnea is a life-threatening serious condition. Not being able to breathe properly while sleeping or experiencing breathing obstruction during sleep can cause you to feel excessively tired when you wake up. Since sleep apnea reduces sleep quality, it can cause snoring. Sometimes, losing a few pounds or changing our sleeping position can stop our snoring. Advanced snoring problems may require surgical intervention.
