Dance Course And The History of Dance
Among the dance forms taught here are; Street jazz- hip hop, R&B, Latin, samba, cha cha, rumba, jive, passadoble, salsa, bachata, merengue, modern dances. There are Street jazz, hip hop, and R&B classes for age groups 8-13 and 14+. For Latin dances, there are groups aged 15 and over. Modern dance emerged at the beginning of the 1900s. This movement also emerged as a stance against classical ballet. Its founder is Isadora Duncan. Modern dances draw their inspiration from ancient Greek dances. It emerged as a rebellion against the rigidly structured ballet dance of the classical period. It is performed with original choreographies, light fabrics, and barefoot style. Unlike ballet, it is not performed with tight corseted outfits, nor does it involve mechanical movements full of restrictive arm, leg, or body limitations found in ballet. It can be performed with all kinds of deeply meaningful music. Latin dances are divided into two categories worldwide: social dances and ballroom dances. Social dance forms include; Salsa, followed by Tango, Bachata, Merengue, Rueda, and Club Cha Cha variations. Ballroom dance forms include Cha Cha, Jive, Pasodoble, Samba, and Rumba.
