Underfloor Heating Styrofoam Properties
What is an Underfloor Heating System?
In spaces where underfloor heating is provided, styrofoam laid on the floor keeps the pipes in place. Underfloor heating styrofoam, laid under the screed, also provides insulation.
What is Underfloor Heating Styrofoam?
Heating has been among the essential needs of people since ancient times. The development of heating devices from the past to the present, along with the use of technology today, has made heating more comfortable. The underfloor heating system is one of the most preferred applications in recent years. The system, applied when the building is still under construction, provides heating through water pipes or electric cables laid under the screed. As it is an extremely economical application, this system is particularly preferred in new construction projects. Underfloor heating styrofoam serves to fix water pipes or electric cables. Styrofoam is laid under the screed and also provides heat and sound insulation. Heating styrofoam consists of pieces 125 cm long, 62 cm wide, and 44 mm thick. The styrofoam pieces, attached to each other with special hooks and clips, cover the floor of the space. It is one of the main components of the system as it secures the pipes laid on top. It ensures that heat is distributed more effectively. It provides insulation by preventing heat loss on the floor. The styrofoam, covered with screed after the water pipes belonging to the heating system are laid on it, is long-lasting.
