Environmentally Friendly Cities
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has accelerated efforts to transform buildings at risk in the event of a disaster. In 2013, significant strides are expected to be made in the urban transformation project. The project also aims to create environmentally friendly cities and completely eliminate the solid waste problem. The ministry stated that the project will progress very rapidly in its first two years, starting from 2013, and announced that the project will be fully completed within 20 years.
Take Precautions Against Natural Disasters
Severe earthquakes in different years have cost the lives of many citizens in our country. Even if material damages are compensated, the loss of life cannot be remedied. In this regard, the urban transformation project holds great importance. Thousands of residences are located on numerous fault lines passing through Turkey. It is known that in the event of a possible earthquake, the loss of life would be very high under current conditions. For this reason, the urban transformation project needs to be taken seriously by citizens as well. Citizens who believe their residence is at risk must apply for a risk assessment. When the urban transformation project is realized with the common sense of the citizens, the goal is to become a country that does not fear earthquakes.
