What is the Lego Barracks Project?
Barracks, which are the most frequent locations for terrorist attacks, are being renovated. In order to prevent these tragic events, which have resulted in many martyrs, an agreement was reached with Aselsan for the Lego barracks project, and negotiations have begun. Work on modular barracks, especially planned to be established in regions posing a risk, started 2 years ago. The first prepared sample was positioned at a point in the Southeastern Anatolia region. Commandos with special training were stationed in this barracks, and the barracks were subjected to trials for a long time.
These barracks, as the name suggests, consist of a few parts and can be assembled in 15 days by connecting pieces like Lego.
Ballistic tests have been conducted on these special barracks, and they have been ensured to be resistant to attacks, including rocket launchers.
What are Aselsan's New Projects?
The roof is also made of a very special material. This makes it possible to provide full protection from all sides. The barracks have alarm systems. The alarm system, with a wide sensitivity range, can detect living beings in the vicinity. A special software has also been included in the project. With this software, it can be clearly determined whether a living being approaching the barracks is human or animal. The barracks, to which great importance has also been given for insulation, have been designed to be suitable for use in both summer and winter months. The barracks, which have many other important features, have remote-controlled weapon systems installed on their exterior. This way, risks can be minimized, and incoming attacks can be responded to.
