Tests Performed at Health Centers

Tests Performed at Health Centers

There are over 6,000 health centers in our country. Health centers are major assistants to hospitals. Health centers in Turkey open at 08:30 AM and close at 5:30 PM. There is also a lunch break for staff in health centers. This break is used between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM, and health centers do not perform any procedures during this time. Health centers serve only on weekdays (Monday-Friday). As they are closed on weekends, one should go to the hospital in case of emergencies. The blood collection time at health centers is until 11:00 AM. However, in some hospitals, blood collection is not done after 10:30 AM. This is because most health centers do not have a laboratory to perform blood tests. Therefore, they collect blood samples and send them to another hospital with a laboratory. They also receive the results back. To get the test results quickly, they collect blood early.

Are Urine Tests Also Performed at Health Centers?

Urine tests are also performed at health centers. The procedure is the same as for blood collection. A urine sample is taken early in the morning and sent to the laboratory. The result can be obtained again from the health center.
